BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE

assembled my own custom desktop computer from standard components. first tested a Raspberry Pi for 2 years, then upgraded to an Intel board and used it as a production machine for 3 years

it is only since a since a couple of months that I have 100% reliability on this device and I am now confident I can transfer the solutions to bigger and more advanced systems

50 years since Woz did his thing - the standards are better, the components are much lower cost, smaller, and more powerful and we have the internet to buy the necessary and solve issues. so much for the hardware. in terms of software there is the Linux community. so I guess for about 15 years now the technology to assemble your own computer has been accessible to almost anybody. for me, it was the Raspberry Pi that opened the door and changed the game

of course it will still take time to do. sure, and well worth it because it is interesting to learn how a computer works and find out what can be done with it

me happy? yes, very :-)

why? because everything is exactly as I want and it is flexible. I can grow this. I am using standard brand ready-to-use devices as well, but this is better
